Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assembling electronic and mechanical equipment to ensure timely shipment. The successful candidate will read and interpret instructions, assemble parts and tools, and fit electronic components together.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assemble electrical assemblies and subassemblies, including cabinets, modules, chassis, and cable harnesses, using engineering drawings and processes.
2. Build wire harnesses and cables, crimp, route, and tie cables & cable harnesses.
3. Assemble electrical devices and/or wire electrical control panels and subassemblies using engineering schematics and working instructions.
4. Pull material from the warehouse and ensure material availability for work orders in a timely manner.
5. Maintain and control accurate inventory levels in WIP by correctly conducting material transactions in a timely manner.
6. Provide the material kit and accompanying paperwork for the production line. Communicate any risks to management as needed.
7. Read assembly instructions and build to process requirements.
8. Prepare product for shipment, including packaging orders, performing out of box audit, and physically moving materials from the production cell to the warehouse.
9. Transfer inventory between stocking locations in the Oracle ERP system.
10. Physical & systematic tagging, segregating, and moving of defective material to a nonconformance material location.
11. Issue Quality Escape Report (QER) to the appropriate personnel as required.
12. Participate in lean events such as 5S and basic workstation redesign.
13. Maintain 5S standards in the work cell.
14. Ensure anti-static protection is always worn to prevent damage to static-sensitive parts.
15. Work in a safe manner and ensure appropriate training is taken to do tasks safely.
16. Report any incidents or injuries while on the job.
17. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with Client's Quality Assurance and Workmanship standards.
18. Abide by all Client corporate and local policies and procedures, including but not limited to Integrity - The Spirit and The Letter, Quality Management System, and Environmental Health and Safety policies.
19. Assist with cross-functional team to plan and resolve production problems.
Requirements:
1. Flexibility and adaptability to work anywhere on the shop floor.
2. Experience in wiring, soldering, cabling, and/or mechanical fabrication.
3. Ability to read assembly drawings and schematics.
4. Good understanding of verbal and written communication.
5. Good interpersonal skills are an asset, as this position will require occasional interdepartmental communications.
6. Must be able to work up to 6 hours standing and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, and lift up to 35lbs as part of daily duties.
7. Basic computer skills are required.
