Business Systems Analyst

At Global Pharma Tek, we are seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will work in partnership with clients to advise them on information technology solutions to meet their business objectives or overcome problems. You will analyze user requirements, generate prototypes for user consultation, and design, test, document, implement, and maintain applications. Your expertise will be essential in identifying constraints and assumptions, documenting, and presenting them to project teams. You will also be responsible for ensuring the team is proactive in completing priorities and deliverables, and that requirements are well-understood, documented, and accurate. Additionally, you will use SQL to query databases and extract useful information, and participate in planning application development activities, providing direction, guidance, and support to technical staff. You will contribute to writing test cases for application, system, usability, and user acceptance testing, and provide guidance to the organization on information management and IT technology, IT infrastructures, and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT. Your experience and skill set requirements include leading and conducting business analysis to assess client's business problems/opportunities at varying levels of detail appropriate to the project, aligning with Unified Project Management Methodology, Enterprise Architecture, and Gating Process, and Standard. You will also have experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), knowledge of project management and in-depth knowledge of task estimation, scheduling, and control, and experience grooming and assembling requirements into coherent user stories and use cases and managing the Product Backlog Items, refining them, and communicating changes to project manager/Team Lead. You will lead and conduct business analysis, meet with the Product Owner and end-users to understand the team's work, act as a proxy Product Owner for the team, where the BA answers questions or facilitates decisions on behalf of an absent Product Owner, develop strategies, prepare business cases, and cost-benefit analysis, and conducts feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives. You will also conduct business modeling, use case modeling, conceptual and logical data modeling, process and data flow modeling, use case surveys, business rules definition, and non-functional requirements definitions, monitor progress, resolve problems, and report regularly to I&IT management and stakeholders, and can help plan, develop, manage, control projects, and resolve complex technical design problems. You will develop performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis, apply re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements through alternative and cost-effective service delivery approaches, experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools to document conceptual requirements and scope, and experience in managing and implementing change within an organization. You will also be able to develop user guides, deliver online demos, and walkthroughs for complex processes to end-users and their supervisors, and skills in training and supporting staff through transitions. Your technical knowledge and expertise include knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies and Agile project methodology, experience with creating and managing user stories using Azure DevOps, in-depth knowledge of database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), ability to write complex queries, joins, subqueries, and use SQL functions, experience with Microsoft Power Platform App, experience with business system technologies to provide technical expertise and advice, experience with design, develop, test, and implement systems solutions, and evaluate software, experience with advanced application prototyping, knowledge of front-end, web-based technologies, and ability to prepare feasibility studies, requirements definition, analysis, prototyping, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance, experience documenting product acceptance criteria, knowledge of emerging IT trends and technologies, and knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards. The must-have requirements include experience with Agile project methodology leveraging Jira and/or DevOps, experience transposing requirements into coherent user stories, in-depth knowledge of database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), and ability to write complex queries, joins, subqueries, and use SQL functions.
