Job Description:

At Delta Star Inc., we are seeking an experienced Control Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for medium voltage, mobile power transformers and mobile substations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in control panel design, transformer controls and design. You should be proficient in AutoCAD Vanilla and have knowledge of NEMA, IEEE, CSA, and IEC standards for control panel design.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and drafting control systems that meet customer specifications, industry standards and company goals.
  • Selecting transformer instruments and gauges based on design and customer requirements.
  • Preparing BOMs, reviewing and approving vendor quotes and managing ERP system updates for material requisitions.
  • Responding to technical inquiries from internal and external customers and troubleshooting issues as needed.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in power transformer controls and design, with at least 3 years specifically in transformer control design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Vanilla (required); experience with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NEMA, IEEE, CSA, and IEC standards for control panel design.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
