We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our Land Quality and Remediation team in Kamloops.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to contribute to a variety of environmental and contaminated site projects. As an Early Career Environmental Scientist/Engineer, you will be responsible for participating in all facets of environmental or contaminated site projects, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, and long-term environmental monitoring of sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in fieldwork programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, and surface water, as well as decommissioning and remediation programs, and remediation system operation and maintenance.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports.
  • Support project managers with project planning and coordination, reporting, and tracking schedules and budget.
  • Assist with technical and financial proposal preparation.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a degree or a technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or related studies.
  • Preferred minimum 1 year of experience in contaminated site work including leading and supporting environmental site assessments (Phase I, II, and III ESAs), soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation programs.
  • Passion for fieldwork and available to work away from home occasionally for up to 2 weeks at a time.
  • Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to oil and gas facilities, construction sites, subsurface investigations, and contaminated sites.
  • Able to work independently and in small teams, including ability to work in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources.
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization preferred.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to job sites/clients.
