We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Job Summary

The Personal Support Worker will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene, ensuring their physical, social, and emotional needs are met. This will be achieved through a resident-centred approach, adhering to relevant government standards, residents' rights, and the organization's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  1. Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
  2. Experience in long-term care setting is an asset
  3. Current CPR certification completed within one year period
  4. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  5. Ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and time manage
  6. Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
  7. Computer literacy
  8. Ability to speak and converse in Chinese is an asset, understanding of Japanese is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Considerable standing, walking, lifting, and bending
  • Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact
  • Ability to work permanent night shifts, including weekends and short shifts, as well as alternate shifts to meet operational needs
