Product Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at ML6 Search + Talent Advisory. Our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of steel hardware for the energy sector, is growing and requires an expert to manage technical projects and develop products.
Key Responsibilities- Manage technical projects from concept to production, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Design and develop products and processes within defined objectives, utilizing mechanical design principles and materials properties.
- Perform calculations and layouts to achieve final design drawings, maintaining accuracy and compliance with drafting standards.
- Review and maintain existing product designs, identifying opportunities for improvement or cost reduction.
- Supervise and review work by others in the technical team, ensuring adherence to industry standards and manufacturing documentation.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, materials selection, and stress analysis.
- 4+ years of experience managing technical projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with the ability to produce accurate and clear detail and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including hot work, stamping, machining, heat treatment, and finishing.
- Experience with mechanical testing equipment and methods, as well as the ISO9001 Quality System.
- Ability to build cost estimates for manufactured products and provide excellent written and verbal communication skills.
