Job Summary:

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a skilled Case Manager to support individuals impacted by disruptive events. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively to provide case management services, ensuring individuals receive the necessary support to recover from the event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management services to individuals impacted by disruptive events, including assessing needs, developing recovery plans, and connecting individuals with relevant services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Case Management and Operations team to establish a safe and secure working environment and identify emerging trends related to identified needs and capacity.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a safe and secure working environment and spaces supporting different populations.
  • Follow established processes and procedures with accurate attention to detail, including identification and escalation of complex case files.

Requirements:

  • College degree in a related field, and 1-3 years of experience working in customer service, case management, disaster recovery, health services, or a related field.
  • Knowledge or experience in customer service, disaster recovery, emergency management, community development, social work, or psychology is an asset.
  • Experience in emergency settings is an asset.
  • Understanding of Red Cross role in emergency response and recovery is an asset.
  • Experience using database systems required; experience using EMIS is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint) as well as Adobe is an asset.
  • Current First Aid certification or willingness to take training.
  • Current Psychological First Aid Certification or willingness to take training.
  • Language requirements: must be able to read, write, and deliver services as appropriate to the operation in English or French. Additional languages considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • The majority of the work is performed in an environment that is mostly clean and comfortable.
  • Potential for responding in disaster areas, as well as difficult and unstable conditions, and uncomfortable conditions.
  • Ability to respond during non-traditional hours and long hours of work in a demanding context.
  • Ability to respond in local community and outside of their community.
