Job Title: Curatorial Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Curatorial Assistant to join our team at the Stephen Lowe Art Gallery (1987) Alberta Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Curatorial Assistant will provide administrative support to the curatorial team, assist with the planning and development of exhibitions, and contribute to the care and conservation of our collections.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the research, handling, and storage of artifacts
  • Assist with the planning and development of travelling exhibitions and special events
  • Classify and assign registration numbers to artifacts and supervise inventory control
  • Prepare and mount skins of birds or animals for preservation, scientific, or display purposes
  • Protect and care for cultural artifacts and collections during exhibitions, while in transit, and in storage
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Equivalent experience
