We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective nursing care to patients in the Birthing Unit. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of an inter-professional team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Comply with policies and procedures related to patient observations
  • Practice patient-centered care to ensure patient safety and well-being
  • Provide health teaching to patients and families, including thorough discharge instructions
  • Respond to emergency situations and consult with colleagues as needed
Qualifications:
  • Clinical experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years in obstetrics
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate
  • Completion of Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario breastfeeding e-learning course
  • Current Fetal Health Surveillance certificate
  • Obstetrics Nursing certificate or enrollment within six months of hire
Core Competencies:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities
  • BCLS certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an inter-professional team

  • Ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment
  • Exemplary clinical practice within an inter-professional team
  • Ability to prioritize patient care needs and make autonomous decisions
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
