Laboratory Assistant

Humber River Health is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate collection of clinical specimens, which will enable our inter-professional teams to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy, central processing, and ECGs with precision and attention to detail.
- Assist in microbiology planting and dispensing/discharging duties for the Histology department.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
- Laboratory Assistant Technician Certificate or equivalent experience.
- Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and/or Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS/SCSLM) certification.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in performing phlebotomy of adults, children, and neonates.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
