Job DescriptionThe Senior Budgeting Specialist will be responsible for administering financial processes and procedures, ensuring effective planning, control, and stewardship of the Library's financial resources. The incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Analyse and evaluate budget estimates to ensure alignment with operational plans; identify variances and take corrective actions;
- Research, analyse and consolidate financial information for the preparation of main and supplementary estimates, submissions, and reports requested by senior management, central agencies, and committees;
- Cost planned budget expenditures and provide expert advice to managers on costing methodologies;
- Provide strategic and operational budgetary services to Service Heads across the organization, including guidance on financial policies, procedures, and applications;
- Monitor budgets and prepare regular reports (dashboards) and financial updates;
To be considered, you must have a bachelor's degree in a field related to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience. A minimum of one year of experience in financial planning and budgeting is required, combining at least two of the following areas:
- Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations to clients and management;
- Internal Control;
- Costing;
- External Reporting;
- Financial Management Advisory Services;
You must also have experience developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
