Fraser Health is a leading healthcare provider in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, serving over two million people. Our team of 48,000+ staff, medical staff, and volunteers are dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and services. At Fraser Health, we value diversity and strive to maintain an environment of respect, caring, and trust.
We are committed to planetary health and believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their background or circumstances. As a Manager in Clinical Operations, you will be part of a team that shares this vision and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of our patients and community.
**Job Description**
The Manager of Clinical Operations is responsible for providing leadership and management to front-line patient care departments or health programs. This includes supervising nurses at the Level 4 or 5 classification/wage rate, managing resources, and ensuring the effective delivery of clinical services. The Manager must foster an environment that empowers individuals to provide safe, quality care, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with medical staff, other departments, and external partners to coordinate the utilization of shared resources and develop strategic operational initiatives. You will also participate in research initiatives, identify emerging best practices, and develop strategies for integration into operations. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of administrative and clinical information systems and ensure Fraser Health's reporting requirements are met.
**Responsibilities**
1. Manage resources through budget planning, review of expenses, and development of action plans.
2. Provide leadership and mentorship to nurses, promoting an environment that supports engagement, innovation, and individual achievements.
3. Recruit and supervise staff, providing regular feedback and recognizing individual contributions.
4. Review workplace indicators, establish department objectives, and develop action plans to improve retention, engagement, safety, and productivity.
5. Lead quality improvement initiatives, identifying risks and developing strategies to address them.
6. Interpret and apply operational and service contract plans, ensuring compliance with professional standards and legislated obligations.
7. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners, coordinating the utilization of shared resources.
8. Participate in strategic operational initiatives, project planning, and clinical services development.
9. Act as a resource to care teams, providing expert consultative advice and supporting the development of short- and long-term tactical plans.
10. Advocate for patients/residents/clients and families, responding to issues and ensuring compliance with complaint review and audit processes.
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will require a completion of an undergraduate degree in health sciences or a related field, plus seven years' recent related experience, including two years in a leadership role. Alternatively, you may have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. You will also need to demonstrate excellent leadership practices, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and carry out projects.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and services. If you share our vision and values, and are committed to making a difference in the lives of our patients and community, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
