About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student, Financial Reporting to join our team at Brookfield Renewable. The successful candidate will work closely with our collaborative team of accounting professionals to prepare financial statement note disclosures under both IFRS and US GAAP.
The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for preparing quarterly and annual audited financial statements with precision and timeliness. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth analysis of financial data to generate comprehensive reports for lenders, tax-equity and joint-venture partners, and internal stakeholders.
Additional duties include ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial reporting activities, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy, and coordinating and facilitating the annual external audit and internal controls over financing reporting processes.
The selected candidate will also participate in building and nurturing positive relationships with lenders and tax-equity and joint-venture partners to foster collaboration and trust. This includes serving as the primary point of contact for lender inquiries and requests, providing timely and accurate responses, and monitoring and communicating financial performance metrics to demonstrate accountability and transparency.
The role also involves reviewing and analyzing financing and partnership agreements and other financial contracts to identify reporting obligations and ensure compliance. Additionally, the candidate will monitor ongoing compliance with financing and partnership agreements, partnership agreements, and tax equity arrangements to mitigate risks.
In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to continuously evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. You will also identify opportunities for automation and technology adoption to optimize workflows and reduce manual efforts.
As an Accounting Student with Financial Reporting Expertise, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and synergy in financial reporting and lender relations efforts. We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
A key aspect of this role is maintaining a strong understanding of consolidation systems such as Cognos Controller and OneStream. Having knowledge of these systems is considered an asset.
