About the Role

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Lead, guide, and support a team of engineers through feedback, coaching, and career development.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and ensure staff performance targets are met.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and communicate team strategies.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse team environment, aligning with the organization's values.
  • Oversee staffing and workforce planning in alignment with skills and capabilities.
  • Act as a project manager or design manager for underground infrastructure projects of varying complexity.
  • Provide technical expertise in project delivery, including overseeing structural analysis, engineering drawings, and tender documents.
  • Ensure successful execution of projects for public, private, or contractor clients.
  • Participate in strategy meetings and support the achievement of organizational priorities.
  • Engage in business development activities, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and represent the company in external technical forums.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer status in Canada.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 4 years in a people management role.
  • Proven experience in project management and business development.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to lead teams through change and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers, and use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via Teams or in person.

This is a highly competitive role offering a salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
