Job Opportunity: Electrical Engineer

StandardAero is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Test Facility Engineering Team. In this challenging role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Designing, manufacturing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical/electronic systems for testing gas turbine engines and test facilities.
  2. Maintaining 51 global Engine Test Facilities and integrating new engine test platforms.
  3. Supporting sustainment activities for existing test facilities.

Our team services engines from leading manufacturers, including General Electric, Pratt and Whitney, Rolls Royce, and Honeywell. As a member of our team, you may have opportunities to travel to various locations, including remote sites in North America, Europe, and Asia.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of:

  1. Electrical Engineers
  2. Mechanical Engineers
  3. Performance Engineers
  4. Computer Engineers
  5. Designers

This team is focused on creating systems that are compliant, innovative, reliable, maintainable, and easy to operate. As part of the Electrical group, you will be responsible for taking design documentation and transforming it into electrical specifications. Your duties will include:

  1. Designing and integrating electrical engine and facility control systems using PLC, instrumentation, and custom design software.
  2. Interpreting manuals and technical documentation to create requirements and specifications for implementation.
  3. Supporting current engine test cell engine/facility control systems, including thrust/torque measurement systems, oil and water cooling systems, fuel storage, and fuel supply.
  4. Working as an individual or part of a team to design, install, commission, and test electrical/electronic systems to support operations.
  5. Creating and maintaining project documentation, including requirement specifications, acceptance test plans, detailed drawings, and calibration and operation procedures.
Qualifications
  1. 0-5 years of Electrical Engineering Design experience
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  3. Possess a PE designation or eligible for membership registration with the State of Texas
  4. Knowledge of electrical and electronic system design and documentation processes
  5. Strong organizational and decision-making capabilities
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills
  8. Willing and able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  9. Ability to travel to various locations, including remote sites
  10. Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time
  11. Driven by working in a team environment
