About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Carpenter Assistant to join our team at Slatch Construction Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting our carpenters in various tasks related to building construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials, such as lumber, tools, and equipment, from trucks and storage areas.
  • Erecting and Dismantling Forms and Scaffolding: Help in setting up and taking down concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required for construction projects.
  • Assisting in Framing and Building: Assist carpenters in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, ensuring that all work is done to a high standard.
  • Removing Debris: Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Work Environment

As a Carpenter Assistant, you will work outdoors in various locations, including construction sites, and may be exposed to dusty conditions. You will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Reliability: We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical Capabilities: You should be physically fit and able to handle heavy loads, work in a fast-paced environment, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Experience: While experience is an asset, we are willing to train the right candidate. A permanent position is available, working 35 hours per week.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
