Job Summary

The CSTU is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Kuujjuaq. As a key member of our Home Care Services team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring respiratory therapy needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor respiratory therapy needs of clients
  • Monitor home users requiring care and/or support devices according to their respiratory condition
  • Evaluate the need for equipment and ensure the proper functioning of respiratory equipment
  • Screen, interpret, and follow-up on people referred for sleep apnea problems
  • Ensure services are delivered in respect of Inuit traditions, culture, and language
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with other service providers to ensure the complementarity of services
  • Visit different points of service distributed along the territory served by CSTU to provide services in all communities
  • Teach clients, their families, and intervenants
  • Develop protocols, tools, and proceedings to ensure everything is in harmony with practice guidelines

Qualifications

  • College diploma specializing in respiratory therapy techniques, recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as respiratory therapist
  • Member of l'Ordre professionnels des inhalothérapeutes du Québec
  • Knowledge of programming and monitoring of CPAP machines is an asset
  • Relevant work experience in the Health and Social Services network
  • Experience in the emergency room, intensive care is an asset
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Good adaptation capacity
  • Experience in remote areas would be an asset
  • Good management of stress
  • Bilingual French and English, spoken and written; knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset
  • Ability to work in consultation with dispersed staff in communities
  • Valid driver's license

Benefits

  • Salary: Min. $952.13/sem. Max. $1477.50/sem.
  • Isolation premium: $203.66$/week
  • High cost of living premium: $74.17$/week
  • Three or four vacation trips per year (as per the family status)
  • Housing provided free of charge (transit or shared lodging if necessary)
  • Moving and storage expenses
