Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Electroneurophysiology Specialist to join our team. As an EEG Technologist, you will play a critical role in conducting electroneurophysiological tests, evaluating test results, and providing technical support to medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts and records EEG tests on patients by operating digital equipment, adjusting equipment during test processes, and taking measurements from test data to demonstrate abnormalities.
  • Formulates technical preliminary reports by analyzing recordings, describing abnormal manifestations, and forwarding impressions to neurologists for diagnosis.
  • Prepares for patient tests by receiving requisitions from physicians, reviewing case history, and assessing the nature of the problems to determine test approach.
  • Obtains patient history, explains procedures, attaches electrodes, and monitors patient comfort to ensure required results.
  • Sets up and monitors Carotid Endarterectomy during OR procedures and advises surgeons of any changes.
  • Ensures equipment is functioning correctly and reports any problems to Biomed for equipment servicing.
  • Cleans machine electrodes, calibrates equipment, and maintains adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Provides input into capital equipment acquisitions and budget information.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology Technology plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CBRET) and/or the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC).
