Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lead Precision Machinist to join our team at Komatsu. As a key member of our machine shop, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality precision parts using manual and CNC lathes, mills, and drill presses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machining parts to specifications using manual and CNC lathes, mills, and drill presses
  • Writing simple and complex programs utilizing conversational as well as G-Code controls
  • Using CAD/CAM software to detail and write complex tool paths
  • Setting up and operating field boring and milling equipment as required on customer sites on occasion
  • Measuring, examining, and testing completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments including Faro Arm, Faro Tracker, and conventional measuring equipment
  • Setting up, adjusting, and operating all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Willingsness to work overtime when required
  • Ability to work different rotating shifts
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other machinists, millwrights, and apprentices within the field environment

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Machinist Trades Certification is preferred. Will consider 3rd or 4th year apprentice with good experience.
  • G-Code Programming Experience
  • CAD/CAM Experience
  • Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers
  • Must have no restrictions for access to any mine site
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
