About the Opportunity

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia has an opening for locum physicians. We are welcoming applications for academic medical staff positions. The Division provides gynecologic oncology care for the province of Nova Scotia, with a population of over 1 million. We also provide surgical gynecologic oncology services for patients from Prince Edward Island, making up approximately 10 percent of our surgical volume.

Our primary site is in Halifax, with outreach to community centers for clinical care. The group works collaboratively with radiation oncology, pathology, and genetics within the Nova Scotia Cancer Care Program. Department members participate in the education of medical students and residents and a wide range of clinical and preclinical research with local collaborators in foundational science and epidemiology.

We are particularly interested in provincial quality of care initiatives to ensure equitable access and delivery of care. We currently work in a Collective Care Clinical Model, and within this is a shared surgical practice. The ideal candidate will be flexible and exhibit innovative thinking.

The successful candidates will be required to provide the full scope of gynecologic oncology care, including systemic therapy, surgical gynecologic oncology, and call coverage.
