Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

The Power Technologies Group has an opening for a Materials Manager to oversee planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.

Located in Oakville, reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring adherence to Dana Operating Systems and proper techniques.
  • Knowledgeable of core competencies such as strategic thinking, building talent, and organizational capability.
  • Assessing requirements for materials and supplies to be purchased.
  • Tracking premium freight and delivery to suppliers/customers.
  • Managing and developing staff in the materials department.
  • Establishing delivery schedules, monitoring progress, and contacting suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Responsible for achieving and monitoring plant inventory levels.
  • Performing duties and tasks assigned in compliance with IATF and ISO 14001.

Requirements:

  • Conducting LPA audits and supporting plant safety objectives by participating in monthly Safety-First audits and JHSC meetings.
  • Responsible for customer service and on-time delivery for production.
  • Responsible for capacity and manpower planning for production and materials groups.
  • Responsible for non-production purchasing.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a managerial capacity within a manufacturing production environment.
  • Strong people skills with high sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety & Quality.
  • Experience in Automotive Industry is preferred.
  • Formal organizational skills along with demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Well-rounded background and a desire to follow technology development trends.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is an asset.

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
