Senior Bridge Engineer Role at COWI

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our bridge design and project management team, you will be responsible for leading bridge design projects from initial concept to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, including reviewing work produced and mentoring junior staff.
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and evaluation, and be responsible for the preparation of calculations, drawings, work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications, under applicable design codes, along with engineering reports and other technical documents.
  • Research and review design options for both technical and financial impact.
  • Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience in Bridge Design and Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, or able to obtain within 12 months of employment.
  • Great technical expertise with 3D structural modelling with analysis software, demonstrated experience developing tasks in bridge design and construction, and working knowledge of modern bridge design codes.
  • Familiarity with the use of structural design codes, drafting software, and structural analysis software programs.
  • Prior experience guiding structural design teams, either as a technical or discipline lead, and consistently delivering on time and within budgets.
  • Engineer of Record on BCMOTI (or Ministry-like) projects, considered an asset.

Base Compensation: $106,000 to $146,000 for North Vancouver location only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set, and location.
