As a Portfolio Trading Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting our Portfolio Management teams in generating orders, rebalancing portfolios, and ensuring timely settlement of various asset classes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily trading operations support to Portfolio Management groups, including order generation and settlement of Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives.
  • Manage and maintain portfolios in accordance with the portfolio manager's model, ensuring accurate and timely rebalancing.
  • Monitor cash levels in portfolios and investigate any issues to ensure sufficient cash is available at all times.
  • Act as a key contact for Portfolio Management teams, providing guidance and assistance to team members.
  • Communicate trade allocations across all markets to brokers, custodians, and clients, verifying trades settle on time and researching and correcting any trade discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve both simple and complex price challenges.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve functions and enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor daily reconciliations between internal and external systems.
  • Develop a zero-tolerance attitude for trading and accounting errors, working tirelessly to reduce risks and quickly eradicate any errors that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of middle office experience in the industry, preferably in a similar position.
  • Completion of, or working towards, a professional designation in the finance industry, such as the CFA or FRM.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Charles River Order Management systems.
  • Experience with Collateral Management Systems, SSCNet, Omgeo Alert, Clearpar, and other market products for trade matching and settlements.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange and OTC derivative valuation in one or more asset classes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience writing and working with various programming languages, such as Python, SQL, and VBA.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills to understand business needs and translate those needs into workable solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to clearly identify key issues.
  • Solid knowledge of the financial markets and ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
