Job Overview

The Senior ETF Strategist will play a crucial role in the overall growth of CI Global Asset Management's (CI GAM) ETF business. Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Head of ETF Strategy, this individual will be responsible for communicating investment philosophies, processes, and ongoing product updates to CI GAM's distribution team, clients, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with CI GAM's distribution team and assist in the sales process by acting as a subject matter expert on CI GAM's ETF suite.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate an advanced level of knowledge on CI GAM's ETF suite.
  • Help identify opportunities to increase ETF sales.
  • Timely and relevant creation of ETF trade ideas and thought leadership to support the distribution team.
  • Assist in the creation or updates to ETF marketing pieces, sales decks, and other collaterals that will be used by the distribution team.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly tasks (i.e., Sales tools update, trade ideas, pitch decks, performance updates, etc.).

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of either ETFs, capital markets, or a strong understanding of the Canadian asset management industry.
  • 5+ years of investment-related experience with specific subject matter expertise in ETFs preferred.
  • Completion of a 4-year post-secondary degree, ideally with a business focus (Finance, Economics, and/or Accounting).
  • CIM, CFP, CAIA, CFA designation, or an MBA degree is preferred.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication capabilities; excellent presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, build strong relationships, and drive sales.
  • Strong technical skills with high-level expertise in Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Morningstar, and Bloomberg preferred.
