Description:

  • As an Environmental Services Maintenance Technician at Verve Senior Living, you will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs, painting, and maintenance on equipment and supplies in the home. You will adhere to all regulations and standards in accordance with the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority.
  • Key Responsibilities include participating in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program, maintaining the building in good repair, monitoring environmental fire safety conditions, and performing periodic tests of systems and keeping required records of test results.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining the emergency pull cord system and emergency lighting system, performing regular monthly maintenance checks of all equipment and supplies within the residence, and performing minor plumbing work.
  • Additional duties include maintaining the exterior grounds, performing carpentry and repair work, and maintaining required records and reports as outlined in the policies and procedures of the maintenance department.
  • You will be expected to maintain a safe and clean environment, keep work areas and storage rooms neat and orderly, and participate in staff meetings and applicable educational training.
  • You will be required to follow established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department, maintain effective communication with residents, tenants, and staff, and use the appropriate lines of communication with supervisory staff.
  • Compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, completing all required mandatory training/education, and complying with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and W.H.M.I.S. are also essential responsibilities of this role.
