About the Role

Black & McDonald is seeking a skilled Apprentice Plumber to join our Service Division in Regina, SK. This position is ideal for a hands-on, customer service-oriented professional looking to build a solid foundation in the trade.

The successful candidate will be responsible for demonstrating a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a great attitude. They will be skilled in all manner of pipe joining methods, comfortable with industry-specific tools, and adept at reading technical literature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the site foreman, move/haul material, pull water lines, fire caulking, thread pipe, and assist with other tasks.
  • Second-year apprentices will independently thread pipe, install laundry boxes, and with supervision, begin drainage and assist with other tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • WHIMIS, SCOTT, R&R, Mobile Aerial Platform Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training is considered an asset.
  • Either a current member of the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship Program or the willingness to join.
  • Relevant industry experience is required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strength, stamina, and proper lifting techniques to handle heavy tools and parts weighing up to 25 kilograms
  • Ability to stand for long periods and do moderately heavy lifting and carrying
  • Ability to work in high, awkward, and noisy places
  • Ability to work alone and with others
  • Strong communication skills
