Job Description

The Accounts Payable Analyst plays a critical role in our finance team, responsible for accounts payable and vendor accounts. This position entails reviewing and maintaining vendor records, providing support to the finance team, and lending expertise in accounts payable analysis.

The Accounts Payable Analyst will be assigned to review company credit card reconciliations and ensure full accountability for analysis and reporting. Additionally, this role participates in special projects within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and ensure proper documentation, appropriate coding, and approvals for all requisitions.
  • Enter information into the accounts payable module and select the most effective payment method.
  • Reconcile credit cards to statements and contracts as necessary, providing updates to the finance team.
  • Run accounts payable and expense-related reporting from the accounting system.
  • Maintain a filing system for vendor contracts and expense records.
  • Support the annual audit process with a focus on accounts payable.
  • Maintain YOOZ, an automated accounts payable and invoice approval system.
  • Reconcile all corporate credit cards.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary education in finance and accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with 2 years of Not-for-Profit working experience.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office Suite, Excel (Advanced), Sage 300 or other financial software.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently, with other members of the team, and senior management.
  • Proven initiative, judgment, decision-making, problem-solving, and strong analysis capabilities.
  • A willingness to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evening and weekend shifts.
