Job Summary

Esprit de Famille is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our childcare staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, ensuring their basic needs are met.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, fostering a love for learning and exploration.
  • Encourage children to express their creativity through various mediums, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, collaborating with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, building a network of support and resources.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, adhering to the highest standards of childcare.
Requirements
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) or equivalent certification.
  • Child development worker (ECE level 2) or equivalent certification.
  • Food allergy and anaphylaxis training.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate.
  • CPR Certificate.
  • Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, values, and ethics.
