About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Game Designer to join our team as an Enemy & AI Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with our Directors to propose and develop enemy archetypes that meet the project's needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to lead the prototyping and creation of memorable enemy archetypes;
  • Ensure close communication with the AI team to set clear objectives and highlight the specific needs of various game systems;
  • Regularly collaborate with the Combat team to ensure high-quality combat dynamics between the player and enemy archetypes;
  • Participate in meetings, organize brainstorming sessions, and promote collaboration to successfully carry out a vision and create robust design concepts;
  • Implement processes to improve and streamline production and evaluate them;
  • Document game mechanics and features to serve as a resource for other disciplines;
  • Help identify key tasks and allocate resources to support each system.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in the video game industry as a game designer;
  • At least one published title, preferably 'next gen';
  • DEC or Bachelor's degree in game design or a related field;
  • Experience in writing design specifications and tuning game systems such as AI, combat, and player control;
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to simplify game design and systems;
  • Understanding of system constraints and game engine architecture;
  • Organized approach to problem-solving and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on a 'melee combat game';
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to illustrate ideas;
  • Ability to lead a small team and multitask;
  • Collaboration with different disciplines and ability to learn and share knowledge.
