Job Summary

The City of Brandon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced City Manager to lead our organization. As the chief administrative officer, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our administration, as well as advising City Council on key issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the City administration
  • Advise City Council on key issues and provide guidance on trends and best practices
  • Work closely with local government, Federal and Provincial government officials, and community organizations
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to achieve tangible outcomes
  • Manage financial resources, budgeting, and asset management to ensure financial sustainability
  • Build strong relationships with local business, government representatives, and community organizations
  • Ensure the City is providing relevant services to the community
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a public sector environment
  • At least 5 years of experience in a progressive leadership position
  • Proven track record in managing for efficiency and effectiveness of a large and complex local government organization
  • Excellent knowledge of effective management and leadership practices
  • Ability to think creatively, make sound decisions, build consensus, and effectively manage change
