Job Title: Consulting Telecommunications Analyst

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a highly skilled Consulting Telecommunications Analyst to join our Office of Information Technology team.

Job Summary:

This is a pivotal role that requires a strong technical background in telecommunications networking and computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing telecommunications services to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability across our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership in the planning and implementation of complex telecommunications projects.
  • Participate in teams to address technological issues and regulations, and perform analysis of vendor-supplied software and hardware.
  • Promote process improvements through automation and advocate for changes that enhance reliability and agility.
  • Engage in and improve the lifecycle for service delivery infrastructure and its supporting services.
  • Maintain, monitor, and improve systems and services for NOA and Enterprise Infrastructure.
  • Share and disseminate knowledge among staff and researchers.
Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in the telecommunications networking and computing industry.

Required skills and knowledge include experience in telecommunications networking and computing, designing and implementing enterprise-level networks, and working with various vendors and technologies.

Industry certifications, such as CCIE or CISSP, are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefers 10 years of experience in telecommunications networking and computing, and proficiency in Juniper and Cisco routing, switching, and firewall hardware, Linux and Windows desktops and servers, and Infoblox NIOS.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in a standard office environment and in the field, providing support for IT equipment and infrastructure.

The office environment is standard, but the field environments vary from site to site.

The individual will be required to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, and will need to use their hands to handle tools, cabling, and equipment.
