Job Overview
Veolia is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy and industrial equipment such as front loaders, commodity balers, grapples, and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year. The successful candidate will work a standard 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of overtime on Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy and industrial equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve operational targets.
- Maintain effective working relationships with peers, management, and other departments.
- Promote a quality-first work ethic and attitude to provide a product that meets high standards.
- Safely operate company-owned vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Adhere to COR quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct maintenance checks on equipment and perform housekeeping tasks.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance operational skills.
- Support initiatives to improve productivity, lower downtime, and add value to the MRF.
- Provide training and mentoring to other team members.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of six months' industrial equipment experience or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- In-house training on quality systems, quality regulations, and safe work practices.
- Effective English language communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to wear respirator when required due to dusty environment.
