Nurse Practitioner

The Medical Care Specialist:
•Provides diabetes education and supports diabetes management as a member of the interdisciplinary team
•Possesses a strong understanding of adult education principles and change facilitation skills, along with excellent working knowledge of diabetes care and management for various types of diabetes – Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes, and pediatric diabetes
•Enhances the quality of life for patients and families; consults, confers, and collaborates with other healthcare providers
•Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence-based practice in nursing practice
•Maintains and advances own clinical competence
•Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a casual opportunity. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days; rotating from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
