The OpportunityWe're seeking an exceptional Creative Director to spearhead our brand's creative strategy and lead our Creative Team. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience from a SaaS company, with a strong background in creative direction, concept development, and brand storytelling.
This role demands a keen eye for design and a deep understanding of our target audience and market trends. The Creative Director will work closely with Marketing Leadership to define the creative vision for our brand or projects, manifesting it through strategic approaches that integrate digital, print, and video campaigns tailored to appeal to our specific audience.
A thorough understanding of sales-led growth and marketing strategy is crucial for success in this role, as you'll collaborate with Content, Events, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and Sales teams to support their initiatives and business objectives.
Later empowers brands, agencies, and businesses to achieve predictable outcomes on social media through our influencer marketing software, social media management tools, social program audits, action plans, content creation services, social commerce, affiliate programs, and social listening capabilities. This position will focus on supporting initiatives across all Later products and properties, including Later Influence, Later Social, Later Link in Bio, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of our target audience, market trends, business objectives, and outcomes to inform and optimize marketing strategies.
- Utilize your knowledge of the sales cycle, content marketing, and marketing funnel to streamline creative deliverables and processes for sales enablement and marketing tactics.
- Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities through design and layout to grow the business through acquisition, lead nurture, lead management, feature releases, and retention initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing and brand experts to develop and manage the company's brand guidelines, ensuring consistent application across all touchpoints.
- Apply best practices and industry standards in brand and conversion design, incorporating persuasive elements, strong calls-to-action, effective visual hierarchy, and storytelling techniques.
- Build trust through influence by sharing rationale for design decisions backed by data-driven insights.
Leadership & Operations
Your Impact:
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the Creative Team to ensure impactful creatives are delivered on time and within budget.
- Foster a collaborative culture and knowledge-sharing environment, promoting best practices and inspiring the team to push design excellence boundaries.
- Conduct performance evaluations, quarterly coaching sessions, and provide constructive feedback to enhance team members' skills and performance.
- Optimize team efficiency by streamlining processes and workflow.
- Manage internal stakeholders' expectations and requirements.
- Contribute to budget discussions and manage spend and contractors.
- Design experiments: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop hypotheses, experimental designs, and implement tests to optimize ads, digital, and print designs.
- Data analysis: Analyze results to draw meaningful conclusions, identify winning variations, and share insights for future optimizations.
- Continuous improvement: Apply insights from experiments/projects to refine the user journey, aiming for better engagement, conversion rates, and customer experience.
- Stay updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in design, social media, and UI/UX to identify opportunities for innovation and experimentation and stay competitive.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 8+ years of experience designing for digital, web, and print properties.
- 4+ years of experience in a Creative Leadership role.
- SaaS company experience (preferably SLG).
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- A strong portfolio showcasing successful design projects, including digital, UI/UX, and print pieces.
- Experience with design tools such as Adobe CS, Figma, Sketch, and/or XD.
- Proficiency in marketing analytics, reporting, and using data to drive business decisions.
- Demonstrated track record in developing and executing A/B tests, analyzing and translating data into business and consumer insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate concepts, methodologies, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
