Senior Financial Planning and Reporting Specialist

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to lead the financial planning and analysis functions of the organization in Burnaby. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing financial reports, identifying process improvements, and creating tools to support our reporting and planning functions.
About the Role- Leverage your expertise to develop comprehensive financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and projections, providing scenario analysis and insights to inform business decisions.
- Assemble and present budgeting and forecasting reports to senior leadership, executives, and the board, highlighting key trends, variances, and performance drivers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze results, identify areas for improvement, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize organizational performance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, leading finance projects and initiatives, and contributing to the design and implementation of new policies and processes.
- Develop and maintain effective management reporting, performing recurring and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making and goal achievement.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, combined with 5-7 years of experience in creating financial models and reports using MS Excel, MS Dynamics Business Central, and MS PowerBI.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience in guiding junior team members and sharing knowledge to drive team success.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Macros), MS Dynamics Business Central, and MS Power BI.
- A deep understanding of internal controls, risk management, and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- An exceptional skillset in financial modeling and analysis, with a strong ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
