The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Project Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects managed by Alberta Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide procurement services, including procurement planning, preparation, advertising, evaluation, and award.
- Ensure that procurement documents, the procurement process, and contracts meet the department's requirements and standards, consistent with established procurement policies and practices.
- University graduation in a related field, such as Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Contract Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Technology, plus 2 years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent.
- A diploma in a related field, such as Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Technology, or similar, plus 4 years of progressively responsible related experience.
- Mastery in drafting RFQs, RFPs, RFEOIs, bids, contract documents, specifications, evaluation worksheets, and other specialized documentation.
- Expertise in technical writing and in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience in reviewing and preparing procurement documents and contracts used in a public sector procurement environment.
- Experience in providing procurement services in a construction environment.
- Possess and maintain current knowledge of trade agreements, legal principles, and case law related to competitive bidding and contracts.
- Proficiency in insurance and bonding principles as they relate to design construction and facility management.
- Knowledge of alternative construction delivery systems, types of contracts, and specification methods.
- A professional procurement designation, such as Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP).
