We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Westwood Finishing & Flooring Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including preparing estimates, reading blueprints, and measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field
- Valid driver's licence
- Willing to travel
- Reliability, team player, and punctuality
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with minimal supervision.
Language:The primary language of work is English.
Hours of Work:32 to 40 hours per week.
