Job Summary

Merge IT is seeking a highly skilled Linux Administrator to join our team. As a Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise-level client's Linux infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Linux systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for Linux systems.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including file systems, permissions, and process management.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools, such as Nagios or Prometheus.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins or GitLab.
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible or SaltStack.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance regulations, such as HIPAA or PCI-DSS.
