About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as Supply Paraprofessionals. As an Educational Assistant or Child and Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs in various school settings.

Working under the supervision of administrators and receiving direction from teachers, you will provide assistance to students in areas such as behavior, safety, medical, and physical needs. This may include providing support for students with special needs, including toileting and lifting.

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be physically able to support students with diverse needs, and be available on short notice for supply positions.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Educational Assistants:
    • Diploma in Education Assistance or equivalent college/university degree in a child-related field (e.g., certified teacher, Developmental Services Worker, Bachelor of Social Work)
    • Minimum six-month diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a child-related discipline and one year of related work experience
  • Child and Youth Workers:
    • CYW/CYC Diploma or equivalent College/University degree in a Child Related field (e.g., Bachelor of Social Work, Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care Certificate)
Additional Information

A condition of employment requires passing WRDSB's physical testing component. Successful candidates will also undergo a criminal background check with the vulnerable sector.

The rate of pay is in accordance with the collective agreement between the Board and the Educational Assistants Association.
