- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Requirements:
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
- Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments
- Ability to work in construction, renovation, historical restoration, commercial, industrial, institutional, millwork/pre-fab shopwork, and residential settings
- Ability to maintain, repair, and renovate wooden structures in various settings
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches, and to prepare layouts in conformance to building codes
- Ability to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
