Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Planner to join our team at Barrick. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance technicians have the necessary tools, parts, and supporting documents to complete scheduled work orders in a safe and efficient manner.


The ideal candidate will have practical experience in the maintenance industry, preferably in a mine-related environment. You should have a solid understanding of electrical drawings and schematics and be able to read, understand, and maintain them using applicable methods.


You will also be responsible for scheduling maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and impact on production. This includes creating effective and sequenced work plans in accordance with RCM strategies to ensure asset health and overall production quality.


In addition, you will utilize planning indexes to prioritize work within the facility by identifying and implementing maintenance and reliability activities through the identification of proper resources, tools, and materials.


This role requires strong prioritization, organization, and reasoning skills, as well as excellent communication, leadership, and team-building abilities. You should also have a sound understanding of both the principles of preventative maintenance and maintenance planning.


The salary for this position is estimated to be around $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive bonuses, benefits, pension, and company match share purchase plan.


Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Practical experience in maintenance industry, preferably mine related
  • 2 years' experience with computer-based maintenance planning/scheduling
  • Ability to read, understand and maintain electrical drawings and schematics utilizing the applicable methods
  • Electrical certification in the Province of Ontario; preferred
  • Solid understanding of both the principals of Preventative maintenance and Maintenance planning
  • Clear understanding of the maintenance standards and procedures
  • Must have ability to work effectively with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) SAP
  • Communication, leadership, and team building skills
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and reasoning skills
  • Strong electrical and some mechanical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License
  • Previous Maintenance Planner or Coordinator experience
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline
  • Previous experience with a CMMS (Maximo, SAP, Oracle Plant Maintenance, etc.)
  • Experience in challenging environments (mining, corrosive environment, or other conditions, etc)
