We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in our dynamic and supportive environment.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work as a Physician Assistant in our Horizon Program, a 28-bed geriatric psychiatry tertiary program that provides specialized geriatric assessments for patients 65 years and older or age-related illness.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including gathering collateral data, taking histories, and completing admission and discharge notes.
- Provide follow-up care and education to patients and families.
- Liaise with families and communicate within the Waypoint care team and with external members of the patient care team.
- Document all aspects of care, including compliance with quality standards.
- Contribute to complex discharge planning and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant training program.
- Certified, or eligible to be certified, through the PACCC.
- Previous experience in acute care medicine and mental health an asset.
- Experience with patient safety, including emergency patient care procedures.
- Proficiency in English language; working knowledge of French language an asset.
