Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Assurance & Accounting team as a Manager. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills, technical expertise in audit and assurance, and a strong understanding of business, accounting, and management principles.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Lead client-facing engagement teams to deliver high-quality audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, and financial/accounting transactions.
  • Drive industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations, and timely deliverables.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business needs, key risks, and opportunities for added value, ensuring client satisfaction and relationship growth.
  • Oversee engagement planning, scheduling, project financials (budgets, WIPS, billing, collection, variance recognition), and quality control.
  • Maintain specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries, and reports.
  • Navigate the local business community, explore business development opportunities, and contribute to proposal preparation and delivery to meet client needs.
  • Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal growth, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.

**Requirements:**

  • 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
  • Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software.
