Job Title: Educational Assistant - Cold Lake High School

Northern Lights Public Schools is a dynamic and innovative educational institution located in the heart of Alberta's Lakeland region. We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Educational Assistant to join our team at Cold Lake High School.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to assist with student educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs. The successful candidate will work in a team environment to provide support to students and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs
  • Work in a team environment to provide support to students
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
  • Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
  • Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation
  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
