Technical Data Lead

The AIM Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Data Lead to facilitate the delivery of an Insurance Accounting Standards project. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teams and vendors to implement the new standard and perform tandem testing to validate results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the technical success of the project, ensuring that all aspects of the SAS and Actuarial Model are implemented correctly.
  2. Ensure that logical and physical designs are created and implemented, focusing on data management and processing.
  3. Lead technical teams to develop solutions, leveraging external SMEs as required, and optimize IT investment by implementing solutions that enable business strategy execution.
  4. Review and support the development of requirements and business processes, ensuring that they are aligned with the project's goals.
  5. Assist in project planning, quality assurance planning, and support planning, ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-coordinated.
  6. Document and raise deviations from architecture direction, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  7. Provide advisory services for non-functional testing, stress testing, and load testing to ensure stability and quality.
  8. Support functional quality control mechanisms, including code reviews, automated testing, user testing, and more.
  9. Develop and implement appropriate security controls, following applicable standards, to ensure the integrity of the project.
  10. Lead technical investigations to ensure the quality of solutions and optimize platforms, ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-managed.
  11. Responsible for the deployment of solutions to non-production and production environments, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  12. Lead the transition of solutions to operations/support, ensuring that all necessary documentation, knowledge bases, exceptions, and logs are in place to assist with solution failures.
  13. Review and analyze existing solutions, recommending strategies for optimization and improvement.
  14. Provide expertise throughout the entire solution lifecycle, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  15. Interact with the Data Platform Technical Lead to align and follow lead, ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-coordinated.
  16. Develop, communicate, and monitor technical trends and technology standards through governance bodies, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  17. In conjunction with the SAS Tech Lead, lead strategic planning to achieve goals within timelines, identifying and prioritizing development initiatives.
Requirements
  1. Application data integration and data management and processing experience.
  2. Knowledge of tools: SAS EG/Viya, SAS Visual Analytics.
  3. Solid SaaS implementation experience, preferably with SAS products.
  4. System design, application setup, and configuration expertise.
  5. Experienced with application iterative/incremental design and implementation.
  6. Release and deployment management skills.
  7. Cloud infrastructure knowledge.
  8. Workflow and business process analysis expertise.
  9. Data requirements/mapping/modeling – SQL Server and SQL.
  10. DevOps mindset and programming skills.
  11. Balances product features and needs with Minimum Viable Product approach.
