About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Masonry Specialist to join our team at Granitek Masonry Ltd. as a Bricklayer. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to build residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to build walls, chimneys, and other structures.
  • Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces.
  • Construct and install prefabricated masonry units to meet project requirements.
  • Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required for each project.
  • Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
  • Build patios, garden walls, and other decorative installations to enhance the aesthetic appeal of our projects.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment with varying weather conditions.
  • Handle heavy loads and materials with ease and precision.
  • Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks with minimal breaks.
  • Bend, crouch, and kneel to access and work on various areas of the construction site.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in masonry or a related field.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant training and certifications are an asset.
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Reliability and punctuality to meet project deadlines and commitments.
