Senior Public Health Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Public Health Manager to join our team at Fraser Health. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, leading initiatives that promote the health and well-being of our communities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Statutory and Legislative Requirements: The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the legislated requirements of the Public Health Act, Community Care Facility and Assisted Living Act, Drinking Water Protection Act, School Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Management: This role involves strong clinical leadership, with joint decision-making accountability for the delivery of public health regional programs and services.
- Community Medicine/Public Health Preventive Medicine Consultant: The successful candidate will provide evidence-based opinions and work collaboratively with stakeholders on a wide range of public health issues.
- Population Health: This role involves monitoring and assessing the health status of the community, supporting the development of strategies to address health issues, and providing leadership on implementing immediate actions when necessary.
- Community Health Planning, Evaluation, Research and Program Development: The successful candidate may assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of health programs, planning and evaluation of programs designed to address emerging health issues, and research projects on the effectiveness or efficiency of public health interventions.
- Advocacy: The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for actions that will improve the health of populations, communicating directly with the public and elected officials on health issues affecting the community.
- Education and Experience: A Medical Degree and eligibility for a full license to practice medicine in British Columbia, plus a Masters in Health Sciences (or equivalent qualifications to MHSc).
- Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to exercise independent judgment, action and discretion in the carrying out of responsibilities, demonstrated leadership skills, ability to create and support innovation, and strong communication skills.
