About the Opportunity
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a Contractually Limited Term Appointment (CLTA) in the field of Computer Science. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream for a three-year term with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for undergraduate teaching, managing teaching assistants, creation of course materials, curriculum development, and service to the department.
Requirements
Applicants must have earned a Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of two semesters of teaching in a degree-granting program/post-secondary institution, by the time of appointment. A PhD in computer science or a related field is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with the following experience: coordination of large courses with multiple lecture sections, instructors, and teaching assistants; past teaching or post-secondary education in artificial intelligence, computer systems, web programming, theory of computation, database systems, and software engineering; student engagement activities, such as running seminars, contests, workshops, and student-run initiatives; contributions to departmental administration, such as course coordination and managing TAs; supervision of undergraduate or graduate research projects.
