Business Analyst - Insurance Background

A Global IT consulting firm with multiple large customer engagements across Europe and the US is seeking a Business Analyst with an Insurance background.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the full life-cycle of a Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence project and a thorough understanding of the commercial Insurance and reinsurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Business Analyst support to BI projects to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to document available data sources and their relationships.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Partner with business and user group representatives to understand business decisions and reporting needs.
  • Document requirements in a format intelligible to both business partners and IT colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a BA role in the full life-cycle of a DW/BI project.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis, reporting, and modeling tools.
  • Experience working collaboratively in an agile manner.
  • Strong understanding of the collateral factors leading to success in DW/BI projects, including user engagement, prototyping, MDM, data quality, and educational approach.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL Server and the associated Microsoft BI stack, including MDS and DQS desirable.
