Grocery Store Clerk

Safeway is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Food Service Associate to join our team. As a key member of our deli team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and experience the freshest hot and ready-to-eat meals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food items, including sandwiches, salads, soups, and specialty trays.
- Operate commercial power equipment, such as slicers, fryers, and ovens, to prepare food items.
- Process cash register payments, handle customer transactions, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Participate in inventory management, receiving and rotating product, and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales goals, promote products, and maintain a positive store environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a food service or retail environment an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
